Sgraffito Workshop

Service Description

Sgraffito comes from the Italian word "graffiare" which means "to scratch". Prior to the workshop, you will chose two of three items (a tile, a small dish, or a small cup), which will be thrown in advance. You will apply a slip to your pieces, watch a demonstration, then carve to your hearts' content. Pieces are fired, and everyone returns to apply glaze, have snacks and prepare final touches. Pieces then have their second firing before being available for pick up. This workshop is $125 per participant and includes 2 pieces (one pound each; chose two of the three samples in the photo - square tile, dish, or cup), all materials, refreshments and light snacks. The first two sessions are 2 hours each; the third is 1-2 hours. Total time is 5 hours.
